Frequently Asked Question

What type of media do BAM BAM distribute?

BAM BAM distributes music, video and CD products.

What is Streaming?

“Streaming” is referring to shSared media. "Streaming" describes the act of playing media on one device when the media is saved on another.  The media could be saved on a computer, media server or network-attached storage device (NAS) on your home network.

The file does not need to be moved or copied to the device that is playing it. The media you want to play could come from an online website.  Video sites, such as Netflix and Vudu, and music sites like PandoraRhapsody and last.fm, are examples of websites that stream movies and music to your computer and/or network media player or media streamer.  When you click to play a video on YouTube or a TV show on ABC, NBC, CBS or Hulu, you are streaming the media from that website to your computer, network media player, or media streamer. Streaming happens in real time; the file is delivered to your computer like water flowing from a tap.

What is Downloading?

The other way to play media on a network media player or computer is to download the file. When media is downloaded from a website, the file is saved to your computer's or network media player’s hard drive. When you download a file, you can play the media at a later time.

My album has songs that over 10 minutes.

Most digital retailers don't regard track length as a problem. Keep in mind, if you submit a one hour album track, it will download for the same price as a 1-2 minute song. Some online sites offer “Album Only”! This means that the song can only be purchased with the rest of the album as a whole. iTunes automatically creates “Album Only” for songs over 10 minutes in length.

Can I use generic track titles such as “Track 1”?

Not a good idea. Track titles should be unique and not generic. Generic titling adds confusion and lacks specific identity for retail sites, radio airplay, search engines, content identification, etc.  Therefore ake sure you name a songs something special!

I am working with a distributor and my music is already on digital download sites, but I want to make a switch to BAM-BAM  Music?

Contacting your distributor directly to terminate your agreement.

What if I need to cancel an album or single?

Cancellation is permanent and irreversible. Keep in mind, you may not cancel multiple releases at once. You will need to cancel each title individually. Please let us know you would  like to cancel by email us at bambammusicd@gmail.com. We will issue take-down notices to our digital store partners and your content will be removed from their sites within 60 days.

Do I need to own the rights to my music?

You need to either own, control, or administer the master sound recording rights in order to sign a distribution agreement with any distributor. It’s OK if you did not write any of the songs on your music albums or in your archive, but you must have authority to license the master audio recordings.  Times vary according to our digital store partners processing speeds. It takes 1-4 weeks after we delivery to show on our digital store partners' sites . Please keep this in mind if you are planning a release date.

How long does it take for my music to go live in the stores?

From one week to five weeks. Depending on the size of your file and how much processing we need to do for you

But, once your album or single for release have been approved, we'll begin delivering your music online immediately.
